DRD Partner, Kate Miller took part in Farrer & Co.’s event to consider how family offices and intermediaries should deal with data security breaches.

Data Security Breaches, Family Offices, and Intermediaries

The event was chaired by Farrer & Co.’s Anthony Turner, Partner in Commercial, and moderated by Ian De Freitas, Partner in Disputes & Data Protection. Panellists were Alan Baker, Senior Associate in Intellectual Property and Data Protection, Adam Carvalho, Partner in Contentious Trusts and Estates, and Tom Rudkin, Senior Associate in Reputation Management from Farrer & Co. Also on the panel was Mark Whitehead, Director of Customer Breach Support at Deloitte.

Interestingly, Farrer & Co’s polling conducted at the beginning and end of the webinar revealed that the vast majority of attendees were most concerned about damage to their reputation should they suffer a data security breach, as opposed to the risks of disruption to the business, investigation by regulators, or litigation.
